Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg was raised in Wellington she made her first appearance as Flora McGrath when she played her role in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 years old for Best support Actress. Anna Paquin in full Anna Helene Paquin (born July 24, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada) Canadian-born New Zealand actress who as youngster earned the Academy Award for best supporting actress in her performance as the loquacious and inquisitive daughter of the character, played by Holly Hunter in the atmospheric romantic movie The Piano (1993). After she responded to an open invitation to auditions to play the character, she was chosen as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish piano player who moved into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. She was only nine, and she had no previous experience as an actor. At the age of 16 she emigrated in the United States. Paquin was the main character in Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part as Jane Eyre as only a child. Paquin had a small role in the TV film of 1997 adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad her character was the Spanish queen in a minor part. She played teenage characters in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) as well as her polexia Aphrodisa groupie in Almost Famous (2000).
