She is best known for her role as Willie Scott, an American nightclub singer and performer in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), produced by her future husband Steven Spielberg. She was in Dreamscape (1984), Power (86), SpaceCamp (1986) Black Rain(89), Love Affair, Love Affair (1994), Just Cause (1895) as well as The Love Letter (1999) and continues to be a star. Capshaw, whose portraiture has been displayed at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth Texas. She is the daughter of Beverley Sue Simon (nee Simon), beauty therapist and travel agent along with Edwin Leon Nail, an employee at the airline. She was five years old when she relocated to St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw was awarded a degree at the University of Missouri in education. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She taught special education at Southern Boone High School, Ashland, Missouri, as and Rock Bridge High School, Columbia, Missouri.
